Hello and greetings from Cornwall.
I'm one of those users who had a QL in the mid 80s and then migrated away from it (after too many Micro Drive errors). However, I have fond memories of it and am looking to get a legacy QL and/or Q68 to see if I can get back into writing some assembler and SBasic programs.
I have been reading the forum for a while and am amazed at the dedication and skill form the forum members.
Regards,
Peter.

Hi Peter,
welcome to the forum. You are correct, there are lots of people on here with many skills and lots of dedication. And then there's me!
Here's hoping you have a long and happy stay.
Cheers,
Norm.

Re: Hello from Cornwall
It is indeed. Until I moved south from Aberdeen where I was working, to Leeds (to deprive an Englishman of a job and a woman! ) I was called Nod. That was because all "Normans" in Elgin get called Noddy, but as there was already a Noddy in the street where I lived, and as I was the shorter one -- being a child -- I was shortened to Nod.BackToQL wrote:Norm!!!

Fast forward some 30 plus years and my first job in Leeds. One of my colleagues used to come in every morning and shout "Norm!!!" (as you did!) in the manner of Cheers. The name has stuck here in Yorkshire, so I started signing off as "Cheers, Norm." You are the first to notice.
On all my work Wiki's, Confluence, Outlook etc, and on most other support forums (fora) where I hang out, I use the image below as my avatar. Makes sense to me.
Dare I say it?
Cheers,
Norm.
