Re: 512k + Backplane
I've been wondering the same for a couple of weeks and was also going to ask! Couldn't find another anywhere so assumed it was the seller.RalfR wrote:Anybody know who has manufactured this?

Collector of QL related computers, accessories and QL games/software.
Ask me about felt pads - I can cut them to size and they have proved excellent for mdv data recovery.

He is also selling one item without RAM. Would be good to use it with one of my Tetroid CF/512k cards. Plus the 3 EPROM card, plus (sometimes) the QEP III

Do you have to cut slots in the bottom of the QL and table to plug other cards in the back plane?

Nooooo, it plugs into the other whatsit that adds the RAM and basically extends the expansion port so that it's right on the external edge. It comes in 2 parts.Ruptor wrote:Do you have to cut slots in the bottom of the QL and table to plug other cards in the back plane?

Re: 512k + Backplane
Would be interesting to see whether the board supports a GC/SGC on the backplane - these sometimes have unexpected data directions.
Would also be interesting to see if the backplane needs to be connected directly to the driver board or whether a piece of ribbon cable could be used in-between.
