Warlock of Firetop Mountain
Does anyone know if Warlock of Firetop Mountain was converted to the QL?
One of my customers has recently acquired quite a few items of QL software and there was a microdrive case with a simple label on the side saying "Warlock of Firetop Mountain" and a cartridge inside. Unfortunately, the tape is snapped and jammed, so no chance of reading it!
It might be a conversion of the Spectrum version (which I think was written in Quill), or just the Spectrum version on Spectrum microdrive (although everything else was QL software apparently)....

That was a Crystal game. Crystal never wrote or released any QL games.
Re: Warlock of Firetop Mountain
I think I've dumped some months ago but Max haven't test it.
Were 2 Md's and with It I found another MIA with a very long name.
Need to check it

Yes, load the .mdv file into Q-emulator and do a DIR, you will see 3 files:vanpeebles wrote:It is a QL game?
WARLOCK_12
WARLOCK_13
Which are Superbasic files.
If you do not know how to look at MDV files, I have created a ZIP file see attached.
Looks like 2 Superbasic adventure programmes.

The zip file has ended up in Wales, let me see if I can shove it back through Ralf's cave and into QL Forum...Ralf R. wrote:Lost in a cave ...?Derek_Stewart wrote:If you do not know how to look at MDV files, I have created a ZIP file see attached.
Actually, it looks to be well indented and fairly easy to read, although I did notice poor code like IF key$ INSTR "Aa" THEN... - obviously checking for both upper and lower case keypresses even though INSTR is not case sensitive on QL. Ported from another system, perhaps?
Do we know who the author of this is and whether it's OK (copyright) for me to make it available via my website's games page?

Thank you . It is not so badly written as QL.Gardener . And a GOTO in a DefProc just makes sense if compiled, as intended to run as SB it is badly behaved.
