I have already used PE in mode 8 on black box QL.
But the windows are then very huge and only small applications (clock, …) will fit onto the screen.

Noted, thank you. I just see no elegant way to implement it at the moment. But will think about it.

I wrote a working PE mouse driver in C. Just did not publish it because a C68 library call is buggy. Which I needed for proper check of PE presence. If you can live without this check, I'll be glad to provide it when I return from vacation.

Thanks for the feedback, maybe I've confused this with SMSQ/E.

I just tested this with a current version of the PE, it simply switches to MODE 4 when launching any of the apps. So bad luck here...

We've been here before, just read the PM's from February 2021. I do have this driver, even tested it then, but somehow the mouse behaves quirky now.

I was referring to the driver from this post which is backported from SMSQ/E by Marcel, but it doesn't work yet (and yes I corrected the bug that made it crash upon loading).

You are right.
It switches automaticaly, I did not noticed. All the programs I tried (Black Knihģht, …) use 4 colors.

That's all unimportant to me! If Minerva runs with 512x256 AND 1024x768 in (the beautiful) 4 Colours (or black/white shades) mode, it's superb!

I'm sorry. Could be that my current version behaves better, shall update you when I get the opportunity.
