OPD piggy-back board?

Just trawling the ebay when I saw this:

Yes, that's the OPD CPU daughter board, which contains the 68008 CPU, 4 PROM chips and one of the 2 TMS speech chips (plus a few 74x logic chips).

The speech chip is the one that generates the actual speaking (as used in the BBC micro). The other speech chip, which contains the vocabulary of words, is normally underneath it on the main m/b. I've just recently been exploring dumping the contents of the OPD vocab chip using a BBC Model B.

Hi,

Just need to take the QL 68008 CPU out and fit the OPD board, write a driver to drive the speech rom, or maybe have a QL OPD....
