Finally got a copy of Match Point

Finally 30 odd years after enviously staring at the full colour graphics in one of my Sinclair magazines I've got a copy of Match Point :-) As a Spectrum owner this and QL Chess seemed so next gen, well until I got my Amiga...

Anyway fully backed it up to a blank virtual Oqtadrive cartridge and pleased to see (with some help from a certain utility) that it loads perfectly including the copy protection which means I can safely put the original away. First cart I've seen that has to be in mdv2 to run which was interesting. Guessing it expected you to always make a backup and just use the original for the aforementioned copy check which would be in mdv2 and the copy in mdv1.

And yes I'm rubbish at it

I didn't remember they had so man redheads in the audience ;)

(But if your only other choices are black, white and green (wasn't en vogue back then), understandable)

I'd forgotten how good the graphics were in that game! When it first came out, I was so bad at playing it I think I only ever played it to enjoy the graphics.

@ToFro : :D

Good job! I spent too many hours with that game back in the day. It's surprisingly addictive!

I wish my original mdv cartridge still worked :(

The fact is: Both Psion Chess and Matchpoint were MODE 4 games - games that used the high-res mode of the QL and as such came closely on par with games for computers that came long after the QL. Thinking of that: who else but Psion did some notable MODE 4 games?
