Recently I was going through my collection of Sinclair QL User/World magazines. I miss the November 1990 magazine. As there was a layout change around then (see PIC of October and December issue using link below), I wonder if there was no November magazine.

Old school but cool

I've got a load of QL World mags in a box, almost a full set so I'll check them out this weekend

Sadly you are missing a magazine. I've hefted my big box of QL mags out and there is a Nov 1990 QL World. I'll take the opportunity to list them all on my Z88.

Here they are sorted into year piles. I don't like the way the later issues have no date and are vol/issue.

Can anyone tell me what is going on with these two? They both have the same numbers but one is still sealed so I don't want to open it.

From memory, QL World changed to Vol/issue when they it was sold to another publishing company who were primarily known for producing surfing magazines. It was a short lived affair.

QL World was no longer produced on a regular basis, and so they stopped dating the magazines!

There were indeed two magazines published with the same volume and issue number - guess the editor was too busy thinking about surfing to notice!

Many thanks for digging them out. Good to know that there’s a November 1990 issue. Bad to learn that I’ve lost it over the years. Anybody has a spare copy of it for me?

The second one is the May issue as can be seen from the barcode add-on (05).

Why not ask to put a small "wanted" ad in QL Today or Quanta mags, and on ql-users mailing list in case anyone reading them has a spare copy?

I do have a (I hope!) complete set of the magazines, so if there was a specific article I could probably scan it for you.

I've received the magazine yesterday from my Swiss fellow Markus Dettwiler. More on that in a new thread.
