A Hotmail of spam users incoming!

It seems we are being spammed by a spate of Hotmail users, signing up with names that don't match their email address.

Luckily I set the default group we all belong to to be read only until migrated to read write after a while, or if your name and email match. This had to be done a while back after another spate of spam users and, sadly, spam posts.

I'll deal with the scum when I get back from Alaska. (Don't ask! )

And today's deluge of new users signing up for spam purposes are using email addresses at "hujk.blahtok.com", soon to be confined to the bin!

There is another user which is also suspicious:

"Pamala Tilley" but with an email address of "jorgwillard7835@qiott.com", which is ringing my bells! The IP address is from Hong Kong and has been reported for spam purposes twice recently, so I shall probably bin this one as well.

Another batch of spam users signed up to the Wiki recently. All from emails@genuine.zephyo.com. All of them have been binned. Interestingly, they all had the same IP address.

Anyone on the Wiki who has tried to update or write an article, but cannot, needs to be promoted from "user" to "writer". There are a number of signed up user who still haven't requested the write access required to update stuff.
