Re: New Forum
Hi,
I was sorted out viewing the Forum on a Mobile Phone, just rotate the screen to landscape mode, makes the Forum readable.
Pity there is not a mobile web page....

Re: New Forum
Again, thanks for doing that (and generally running the forums day to day). Really appreciated. I love this placevanpeebles wrote: ↑Wed Nov 23, 2022 11:54 am Thanks for feedback everyone. Re: New Forum
I checked another phpBB site that has just been upgraded and it doesn't load the CPU even though they have put Christmas lights twinkling in the banner. Looking at the system activity on their site Firefox uses less than 5% and a thing called Web pops up now and again at 1%. On the QL forum Firefox and Web are using more than 20% so it looks to me like what ever is driving Web is making Firefox use more resources. When I move the mouse over the emojis while typing this message the Firefox hits 30% and Web goes over 24%. On top of that the White screen takes almost a second to turn to normal colours when I first pull up the QL forum probably because Web task is hogging all the resources. It is a good thing I don't suffer with epilepsy as the flash from dark to light could be trouble. The software just doesn't work properly for this user but users are irrelevant to software developers these days.vanpeebles wrote: ↑Wed Nov 23, 2022 11:54 amThanks for feedback everyone. Re: New Forum
I noticed that the site does not use https by default, unlike the original. Quite dangerous.

Re: New Forum
The new forum update makes everything slow.
But the white flash before the webpageis displayed is a good feature, this tells me when the web page refresh is complete...

Re: New Forum
https works, but I have to explicitely state the protocol. Otherwise, the site defaults to http.
To reproduce, try just "www.qlforum.co.uk" on Firefox.
The original site enabled https by default.

Re: New Forum
Even on Chrome I get http if I do not specify the protocol, tested on two machines (Win 10).
