Stuart Honeyball

Post by dilwyn »

I regret to have to report that I heard this morning of the death of Stuart Honeyball of Miracle Systems.

He passed away peacefully last night (28th March) at 23:45 of cancer, according to his wife, Karin.

I’m sure you’ll all want to join me in extending our condolence to his wife and family and express our great admiration and gratitude for all the work he did for the QL over the years.

Dilwyn

So many of the names I remember from the beginning are departing...

Sad news indeed - thoughts are with his family and friends

Sad news indeed. I met Stuart once, in Chester at a show, and bought a QXL card from him there and then.

My sincere condolences to his family.

Cheers,
Norm.

Very sad news :(

He and his colleagues came to Eindhoven many times, sometimes even on folding bikes backpacked full of Gold Cards.

My condolences to his family, the QL community will remember him forever as the Miracle guy who gave the QL a second life...

Jan.

A real loss. Stuart Honeyball was behind some of the most important developments for the community. Without his work, far fewer of us would still be here using this machine.

Very sad news indeed. It was always the hardware that pulled me toward the QL, and before I could afford my own printed circuit boards, Stuart Honeyball seemed like a hero for me.

In my QL times, only Stuart Honeyball designed systems that contained the "heart" of a computer, the microprocessor and its surroundings. The GC, SGC and QXL were not only peripherals. They were computers - just without graphics. Especially the SuperGoldCard was a masterpiece. We will always remember him!
