Thanks everybody for your suggestions. Doesn´t sound very promising for the early version of the interface then. Mine says "Q1", just below the top transistor.
Marks suggestion is also good, but I also had no success with a 3.5" drive that works on an Amstrad PCW 8512. The PCW expects a ready signal, so the drive got modified. Hmmm, strange.
Still I will try with a new WD1770 first, once it arrives.Trouble with two interfaces
Re: Trouble with two interfaces
Q1 is the pcb(and schematics) letter code for this transostor. Q1 is like the R2 and R3 codes for the two resistors near the xtal(crystal oscillator).
Re: Trouble with two interfaces
Ah, did not realize that.Thanks!
Could not spot any other hint on what version the board is.

Re: Trouble with two interfaces
Success with the Expanderam! I ordered a bunch of memory chips from China and replaced first half of the chips on the board. Either it was the wrong half or more than one chip was broken, but when I replaced the second half in addition, the white screen was gone and the PEEK_L command for installed RAM showed 640KB
With sixteen new RAM chips: To the next 30 years!
