Greetings from Spain

Post by Quickie »

Hi!

Another one who joins the QL club family!
Never used/saw a QL during my childhood, but being now a computer collector I came across a good opportunity and decided to acquire it.
The first impression was that it looked like so familiar (I've been a 48k+ user since 8), but that was the only simmilarity as started to investigate and check the internals of the machine while trying to repair it

Happy to join this forum where I already read so many interesting threads :)

Welcome to the QL Forum, but much more, welcome to the QL!

If you're interested in using software, this isn't the machine for you. Let's be honest about that. But if you're interested in programming or getting the job done, well... The QL will quickly feel like home!

Thank you all for the warm welcome :)

@jivrt - Gracias por los enlaces. No conocía todas esas revistas :D

@Dave - I think the QL will fit perfectly on that computer niche that other 8/16 bits microcomputers did not fill: productivity :) The color pallete is awful, the sound chip is eons from SID, POKEY or even an AY-3-8910 and the storage media (microdrives)...well, I won't say anything, I think during all these years they have been criticised enough...
However, having that exotic microprocessor, being real multitasking and that precious design makes it something real special.

@Timbucus: Glad to see that there are some spanish speakers around :) And yes, I do agree that there are lots of versed people here ;)

Welcome Quickie, .... bienvenido!!

Es estupendo ver a otro compatriota más por aquí. Varios de entusiastas de habla castellana del QL solemos pasarnos de vez en cuando por este fantástico foro. Mira también este enlace con información variada sobre retroinformática y el Sinclair QL.

https://sinclairqles.wordpress.com/

(Hace tiempo que no colgamos novedades, pero también hay información interesante en castellano).

Saludos y ánimo con ese QL! :-)
