The price looks a little high and the end case looks to wrong.

There was a QL with a Schon keyboard on Ebay recently that went for 104 pounds, which I bid a maximum of 70 pounds. All too expensive.

My idea was to try and copy the Schon keyboard with a view to making more. But looks like this is not going to happen now.
Derek, I have somewhere in my QL collection a Schon keyboard, when I eventually get all the boxes sorted out, an extension built and a bit of space we can go through this at some length.

I also placed a bid on the Schon, but had to leave with empty hands :(

I´d definitely go for a new QL keyboard, if there was one.

The biggest downside with the Schon keyboard was the little PCBs which pushed into the molex connectors - they forced them apart so that returning to a normal QL keyboard was impossible without replacing the molex connectors...

On the positive side, I have a few molex connectors (maybe 6?)

On the negative side, once they've gone, they've gone, as the minimum order is now several 1000....

Hi Rich,

The connection to the QL of the Schon Keyboard is probably the hardest thing, but not impossible.

I will look into a non-destructive method of connection of the QL without damage to the QL keyboard connections.

If you have the relevant part numbers I can keep my eyes open for you.

It is now possible to get flexible PCBs made quite affordably. Also, if molex connectors were sourced, they could be placed on the PCB keyboard-side too, and then the displaced membrane strips could be used to bridge the gap - membranes are something Rich has a lot of!

Hi,

I was thinking more along the lines of the Conductive Paint from "Bare Conductive", on an insert that goes into the Keyboard connector then the soldered connection to the Keyboard.

But I will have see if a Schon Keyboard PCB can be copied or maybe make a new one that fits into the QL upper case without any changes

I'm interested on the original Ram Expansion, I will try to get in touch with it and let you know about it in the future.

The printer is also VERY interested but...is VERY EXPENSIVE!!!

I've put the first maximun bid to 300 but...It goes on in minus than 4 hours...
