Ah, Hermes and the Falkenberg Keyboard 90 I/F and perhaps a proper keyboard.

Would be interesting to know, what "SMS Tools" are....

I had a Falkenberg interface - it was a good bit of kit, until it died in a voltage surge induced by lightning (not the program, but the electrical stuff), although it's sacrifice saved my QL. The PC that was attached to one of the other belkin multi switch leads faired less well ;-)

I saw that too. Interesting keyboard interface thingy, but surely the whole thing isn't much use as there's no space to plug in an expansion card of any kind, from what I can see. Floppy drive(s) missing too.

It does have a couple of mounting lugs on the 64 way edge connector - and room to get a flip over edge connector extender on there - so it would be possible to upgade this with a Trump / Gold / Super Gold probably...

Indeed I would reckon this box used to originally hold a Gold or SuperGold card via such a "U" backplane.

I doubt that someone would have gone through all the effort to build such a serious casing and PSU for a simple unexpanded QL.

Yes, a very interesting item. It looks very much like the Spem System 2. But this does have an expansion port and a backplane to expand the QL with Trumpcard and Qubide. I use the expanspion port for my QEP epromprogrammer. But I must admit this box does look very fine.
