CAD Programs

I have three CAD programs which I have preserved onto the PC.

No idea what their status is:

- A PCB CAD drawing program (with icon controls) written by Luc Janssens in Forth (c) 1987
- A program called QCAD (with QCOMP) written by Anthony Quinn from Gifhorn in West Germany (that dates it now...)

- A CAD program by a certain Mr_Navigator (which is from the Quanta library)

Mr_Navigator - do you want to release your CAD program into the public domain now?

Does anyone know anything more about these?

Also, whilst I have PCB Design 1 by Talent, I am missing their PCB Design 2 program.....

Yes Sure, I will look at it to ensure it runs trouble free on Q-emuLator

I am also looking for the PCB Designer 2 from Talent - I have PCB Designer 1, but they sold a second program at the same time....

I used to own Talent's PCB designer but the cartridge ate itself so long ago :/ I can't remember if it was 1 or 2; I think it was 1 because I don't remember a number being associated with it. It was reasonably capable at the time, and by today's standards was mercifully easy to use.

I do have PCB 1, plus TechniKit and TechinPlot which were utility programs which went alongside it.

PCB1 is still copy protected at the moment.

Both PCB1 and PCB2 were advertised at the same time, so I am unclear what the difference was.

I vaguely recall from the time (my recollections may be wrong) that one could do 2-layer boards and the other extended the first to 4-layer boards - also, the latter had gerber output and allowed the creation of excellon drill files and had a viewer.

Or I could completely be mixing it up with ArcPCB, which I enjoyed tremendously.

Hmm re-reading an early advert - you could be right about 2 layer and 4 layer boards....

What was ArcPCB? Was it a QL program (or archimedes)?

ArcPCB was a very intuitive PCB designer for the RiscOS platform, that I used happily until my RiscPC died.
