Chr$ wrote:Yes, I think they will interfere with each other if both enabled. There may be a way to disable it on the Sandy interface but I'm not sure how. You'll probably find the older version is still very useful. What size is the Eprom on the Sandy device? If you have an eprom programmer It's probably possible to re-burn one with just the flp related stuff on it.

One of the real gurus will probably know more.
The Sandy card has a 27256 rom in it, I have spare 27C256's, though I'd better double check the pinouts. Definitely soldered in so I need to do a bit of work to make it work how I want.

The Sandy ROM looks like it might be an EEPROM, but I'll need to check with my programmer once I remove it.

So I finally decided to pull the ROM from the Sandy and it wasn't too hard to replace the TK II section, as it was the last 16K of the 32k ROM.

I dropped in a newer version of TK II and it worked just fine first time. I did also try it with just the Sandy ROM, but decided in the end to go with the TK version.

The worst part was having to temporarily fit a socket to the Sandy board to test out the ROM, which needed to be removed for final fitting of the ROM as it has a RAM board in the Sandy which wouldn't fit with a socket in place.

Thanks god for my de-soldering gun!!

So I now have the Sandy with an extra 512K of RAM, TK II & Minerva 1.98a1 main ROM.

I'm considering some sort of Gold Card next, we'll see :)
