Since .img files are fixed size files, I won't be doubling up the size of my website with endless .img copies of things (most programs will leave a lot of empty space in the images, while some won't even fit in), I made an exception for the Psion programs as they are usually the first things new QL users go for.
Maybe unzip as an img then :)

Indeed the almost total lack of floppy images for the QL is rather unusual, considering other retro-computer scenes (even ZX Specrtrum). Apart from the floppy preservation aspect (not so crucial for me), for all those who (like me some years ago) utilized or still utilize native hardware, it may be a real pain to unzip each file in the real QL or with the proper PC tools in order to make the files readable.
I understand and share in part your argument about .win files, however probably it’s too soon now: it may be more true in a near future when more people will have QL-SD.

Sure, I agree.
By the way, if the following information can be useful for someone, the .img files may be normally zipped (with great space saving) and unzipped with normal PCs or Macs without data corruption

Since part of the original argument was AGAINST the use of Zip files...

Hi,

I never have problems with unzipping QL files in ZIP archive format.

Maybe, everyone should learn how use ZIP correctly.

I think you are right, I often forgot all the options for ZIP and UNZIP, because I mainly use ACP, to extract or create ZIP files.
