I suppose the main problem is the lack of a keyboard adaptor:

That's brilliant.Congratulations on your work. I'm looking forward to playing these on my Q68.

Incidentally, some of the Mag Scrolls games are also been re-released in an updated format on Win/Mac/Linux with features like auto-mapping and clicking on items to get their "examine xxxx" equivalent. I have all three that they have released so far and can recommend them. https://strandgames.itch.io/

I should add that I have never managed to finish ANY of the Magnetic Scrolls games :D

But I still love playing them.

There were at least two QL matrix keyboard adaptor projects, if one of them finishes, yes.
As you see below, I designed the board dimension exactly for the QL extension space. Some tinkering would be needed for power supply etc.

The more elegant solution would be an UltraGoldCard, derived from a Q68, but with a direct QL extension connector, not needing adaptors.
Such a project is really tempting for me. But since it would not bring real technical progress, it's hard to decide if I should spend my very limited time.
That time would be missing from projects like Q68 cache, ethernet, or advancing to modern chip generations.

Tobias, are you using the Aurora graphics mode?
Any chance to use 16 bit high colour pictures instead?

I'm using the original Atari ST graphics, which are 16 colours only (amazing, isn't it, what you can do with 16 colours?) from a pallette of 256. As the graphics are directly ripped from the originals, and I'm by no means the artist the guys at Magnetic Scrolls used to be, that's unfortunately how it is.
