I am trying to use The Painter 4.04, but the mouse is not working properly.
The programs reads the mouse buttons clicks, but the cursor cannot be moved with the mouse.
Any ideas how to fix this ?
(tested on QPC2 and on QEmulator)

The program was probably written before the pointer environment even existed, so it doesn‘t know anything about the mouse position it provides. Buttons work because they map to normal Enter/Space key presses.

The manual states:

"If you want to use your QIMI or SQB mouse, then the ptr_gen file should
be loaded as well (lbytes or lrespr)."

Perhaps the program reads the hardware or linkage blocks of QIMI or SQB directly? The program works on the Atari Emulator.
