Thanks to Martin's superb Supercharge / Turbo decompiler, we have now managed to decompile the program Omega and found that the "bug" whereby the game crashed as soon as you shot something, would appear to be a form of copy protection.
At least the de-compiler allowed us to discover how to get around the copy protection for now.
It would be nice to see this game re-released as freeware, but we now need someone to track down Mike Weaver that ran Caret back in the day to get his permission (it was originally Caret Computers and then appear to have changed to trade as Caret Limited).

Hi Rich
I found a Mike Weaver online at http://www.mikeweavercommunications.co.uk and posted a query via his web-portal.
I'll let you know what I find...
[EDIT: Got an immediate reply back - no, this isn't the same Mike Weaver ]
