QLWiki updated to latest version

Post by NormanDunbar »

Morning All,

just a quick heads up, the QLWiki (https://qlwiki.qlforum.co.uk/doku.php) has been updated to the latest version of the DokuWiki (https://www.dokuwiki.org/dokuwiki) software.

Let me know if you see any problems.

One thing I noticed before I updated, on my Android tablet, attempting to click the "hamburger" menu button to let me login had no effect. In order to login, I had to switch to the desktop version of the front page, that worked fine. I don't recall having this problem previously, but when I checked on my own Wiki (http://qdosmsq.dunbar-it.co.uk/doku.php) I had exactly the same problem. I am assuming a recent Android update has been interfering with things!

Cheers,
Norm.

Have you been doing something technical on the wiki just now Norm (18:30 UK time)?

I was just trying to add a page on the newly discovered Elaborate Bytes Toolkit v4.00 and it presents me with a 403 error and goes all funny when I try to save it.

It says:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access this resource.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Ask me about felt pads - I can cut them to size and they have proved excellent for mdv data recovery.

Hi Chris,

Nope, not me, sorry. Not this time.

However I'm seeing this for everything I do even as an admin user:
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access this resource.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Given I upgrades my own Wiki at the same time, and it's working fine, this is making me suspect it's coming from higher up the ladder than the Wiki pages. I'll chat with the admins.

Thanks for the heads up.

Cheers,
Norm.

Ok, thanks. Probably a php version incompatibility! That's usually what cause my unrelated site the most issues.

Good luck.

You still getting errors too, Norm?

I seem to be able to edit pages, but when adding a new one I now get the slightly different but similar themed:

Access to qlwiki.qlforum.co.uk was denied
You don't have the user rights to view this page.
HTTP ERROR 403

(in the middle of the page).

Hi Chris,

Rob Heaton is looking into it, but it doesn't look like the ISP updated the web server.

I can edit pages with no problem. New pages, even in preview, give the new error that you are seeing for me too:

Access to qlwiki.qlforum.co.uk was denied
You don't have authorisation to view this page.
HTTP ERROR 403

Cheers,
Norm.

I get the same 403 issue when attempting to search for images that I've just uploaded myself (in order to add them to pages or add metadata to them).

It's overall not very nice to use at the moment and the fix seems to be dragging on a bit. I have some nice new pics and a couple of new pages up my sleeve!

It is being worked on, honest!

I'm currently away, and with very dodgy wifi service. Rob is also following up all known avenues of enquiry. It's a bit of a b*gg*r this one and is not (yet) a known problem with the Wiki software. I'm still doubtful that the upgrade broke something as my own Wiki, which I upgraded as a test for this one, is still working fine.

Sorry, but I can offer no time for a full fix. :(

Cheers,
Norm.

I'm going to take a copy of the QLWiki and load it on a local server and see if i can work out what is going on.

In the logs I have access to on the live system, there are no errors shown in the logs, so we don't have a lot to go on.
Work is pretty hectic at the moment, but I'm hoping to do this over the next few days, just hope it leads us somewhere!

Hi Rob, just noticed this post on the forum. Bwinkle is having the same 403 error inserting code into a post on the forum. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3193&p=36792#p36792 -- might be related?
P.S. qlforum wouldn't let me insert the code this time so I had to use pictures...kept giving me this page:
