Re: Q68 support thread
Hi,
The Lego case looks OK, nearly as nice as the Case I provide.
Lego as the advantage of easy assembly, the Raspberry PI in the PIcture could connected to the Q68 easily.
Pity about the electrical networking connection...

Re: Q68 support thread
My preference for computer cases is carbon fiber sheet. I can make the sheet in my garage, then cut it on my computer controlled CNC mill.
When my Q68 arrives in a few days, I'll be able to finish up designing the Q68 top deck - an expansion card that basically acts as an I2C splitter, expansion connector and ESP32 carrier card. I'll be making new front plates for the Q68 out of carbon fiber and machining them on the CNC mill.
I wish the Q68 had mounting holes. It would make mounting and case design a lot easier!

Re: Q68 support thread
Hi,
I have shipped 2 x Q68 computers in Batch 2.
I have 3 more Q68 computers requiring building into the cases.
I have colour coded the PS/2 Splitter, using PC 97: color code for PS/2 keyboard (purple) and mouse (green) connectors.

If your case can not have notches, how about mounting rails for PCB like these?Dave wrote:I wish the Q68 had mounting holes. It would make mounting and case design a lot easier!
Re: Q68 support thread
Those DIN rails do imply a big case and stacked cards 20mm apart. What if you just want two or three PCBs to stay 6mm apart?
Re: Q68 support thread
No, the example above is 84 mm, just right if your case has no notches (why doesn't it have notches, by the way?)Dave wrote:Those DIN rails do imply a big case and stacked cards 20mm apart.
And I don't see why a Q68 addon card would need extra support. Such a card would be so small it either holds on front panel or just the bus connector.
Re: Q68 support thread
I simply can not imagine two or three add-on cards for the Q68.Dave wrote:What if you just want two or three PCBs to stay 6mm apart?
Re: Q68 support thread
There is already one add-on card. If anyone creates or re-purposes any I2C interface that can follow the format, that's two cards.
My intent is that the extension PCBs would fit *below* the Q68. I considered on top, but that would ruin the clean lines of my case design

Re: Q68 support thread
With the release of Blavk Phoenix v1.5, I have added Black Phoenix to the Q68 SD Card distribution.
I can produce Black Phoenix and SMSQ/E on an SD Card. Is this something that anyone would like?
