Thor XVI ROM

Hi to all:-)

Is it possible to load THOR XVI ROM image to QPC2/QEmulator?
Is it even possible ?
End if is possible, how can I do that?

Just LRESPR image or ?

Sorry for question, maybe is stupid, but I try last week without success:-(
I have just emulators, no real QL, so...any idea/information/solution is more then welcome:-)

Hi,

I doubt this would work, as the Thor ROM initialises the extra hardware in the Thor hardware: AT Keyboard, EPROM expansion, SCSI hard drive system.

I only ever had a Thor 1, which used a QL board connected to the Thor expansion board.

QPC2 will only work with SMSQ/E, Q-emulator, is designed to work with QL hardware. But on saying that, maybe the THOR 1 ROM may be persuaded to run.

I will see if I can any of the Thor ROMs to run in Q-emulator and report back.

agree with that. The Thor 16 had hardware significantly different from the QL, like no IPC, but proper UARTs, and also significantly different video hardware. Emulators like QEMulator emulate the QL hardware, however. That would end up like putting a thor 16 ROM into a real QL - Definitely wouldn't work.

The Thor 1 was based on QL hardware, so there's a small chance its ROM would run on the QL, thus on an emulator as well.
