I have FDM and SLA printers. If you send me the STL, I can print a few for you.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the offer, but due the distance involved it would be cheaper to send 3D prints to a 3D Printing Bureau.

However, I have found a potential solution for a Q68 logo. I am looking at a prototype at present.

Derek

What’s cheaper than free?

Hi Dave,

That is a very kind offer. But I could not let you proxuce 50 Q68 front panels for free.

I have another solution, with 8mm x 8mm x 1mm letters, which can be attached to the Q68 front panel.

The only thing missing is a Q68 logo on front of case.

I tried to get 8mm letters 1mm thick. But not being successful.

I did do a 3D model in FreeCad of the Front Plate with raised logo letters. But no 3D printer to test it out.
Derek, send me a STEP or IGES file of the model and I'll mill you a panel from aluminium. None of that STL nonsense though as no solids in those files!

Wayne..

Hi Wayne,

I will consider your offer, the Q68 end plates are made from 1.5mm thick Black Anodised plate, with custom holes machined to suit the Q68. The Rear Plate has White Laser engraved lettering.

I have a DXF & DWG drawing of the blank end plate, but the plate design was done in a drawing package that only has an export function in a full professional version. Which I do not want to buy for one drawing.

I could reproduce the Q68 End Plates in Autocad or any CAD programme. I have been using LIbreCAD, which looks a good free CAD package.

The 3D model I did in FreeCAD is shown below:
Q68 FreeCAD Proptype
Q68 FreeCAD Proptype
The Q68 logo is shown in white for iluustration, which would be black on the production model.

But saying all that, I have found some 8mm x 8mm x 1mm Black lettering, which could be attached to the existing plate.

Derek

Hi;

My Q68 is here!!!!!!

I have still not powered up it because I'm a little busy at work, and I have no time to play with my toys.
Hope to start Q68ing this weekend.

Thanks for everything
