Qemulator and directories

Post by vanpeebles »

I recently upgraded to the full version of Qemulator but I'm a little puzzled on how to use directories(something I've not used on the QL) especially when they are in zip files. Any hints or tips?

I'm not to sure what the question is here....

However, directories are the same as on the QL - basically if you point mdv1_ to a directory GAMES on your PC, and that contains the directories VROOM and CAVERN,

DIR mdv1_VROOM_ will list all of the files inside VROOM.

DIR mdv1_ will just show VROOM and CAVERN.

You can use data_use mdv1_VROOM_ (or is it prog_use mdv1_VROOM_) and then just LRUN boot will start and run VROOM...

Ah that helps sometimes when I type dir flp1_directoryname it just displays the name of the folder but no actual files. Is it just the gold card that uses an arrow for folders?

"Real Folders" is a QDOS Level 3 directory driver feature.
That came first with QDOS on the Ataris, and then was built into SMSQ/E and (some) other QDOS variant.

Cheers,

Level 3 drivers were never built into QDOS - they were however added by a Trump Card ROM upgrade, and included on the Gold Card and Super Gold Card.

They are also built into SMSQ/e and the Atari ST emulator, as you say.
