QemuLator for Windows 3.3

Post by Sparrowhawk »

Just in case anyone else missed it, Daniele released an update to QemuLator on Windows: v3.3 dated 15th March 2020 (I did not see an announcement, but may have missed it - see my point below*)

http://www.terdina.net/ql/winql.html

I'm not entirely sure what the changes are though, as I can't seem to find the changelog. *Mind you, I put the kettle in the fridge the other day, so perhaps my mind is a little distracted these days!

Hi,

Looking at the web link the web page describes the changes:
Qemulator v3.3 Changes wrote: Q-emuLator 3.3 for Windows now available!
March 15th, 2020. Version 3.3 of Q-emuLator for Windows has been released.

If you are still using version 2.x, consider upgrading to version 3 to get the following major new features:

Resizable main window.
Compatibility improvements.
Precise QL speed emulation.
Dot matrix printer emulation.
Mount .ZIP files as disks.
Use .QLPAK single-file QL software archives.
Smart full screen upscaling.
Access microdrive images and floppy images.
QL Sampled Sound System.
Improved display emulation when running on Windows 7 or later.
Time to get the kettle out of the Fridge...

Derek

That's the v3 changes compared to v2, a complete changelog for the Windows version is here (from the download page, click "More details", then "archived here"):

Probably I'll soon have another update with more TCP/IP functionality.

Thanks Daniele!
Always nice to see the QL getting some love :D

It would be cool to have QLirc running under QemuLator.

Hi Daniele,

I updated my registered copy Qemulator to v3.3.

All working very well, thank you for the update.

Probably the best and most flexible QDOS emulator.

Redirect CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+TAB and CTRL+ESC from Windows to the emulator.
Woooooot woooot, thanks :-)
Compatible again with early versions of Windows 95.
Wow, you are hardcore. I'm not even sure whether I should continue to support XP... :-o

Cheers, Marcel

I think that may have been my doing ;). I have a Win95 system for my QXLII and was distraught when I found that Win95 couldn't run Qemulator for that special QL combo hardware and software feeling - both accessing the same FLP1_ (get in there).

(Win95 had an issue with the MSI format install files and Daniele was kind enough to provide me with an exe for 95).

Ask me about felt pads - I can cut them to size and they have proved excellent for mdv data recovery.

Would be good to have QemuLator to test for 2 weeks with all its things, like other SW parties do it.

But if implementing such a 2 week test feature takes away from development of features/bugfixes, I prefer to just pay $35!
It has always been the greatest QL Emulator with the most intuitive GUI and Daniele is a fantastic, helpful person!
I love the hardware emulation for advanced machines like Q60 and the backward compatibility to older operating systems - both host and QL side.

And when testing bootloader code, Qemulator was the only emulator which would even work with my 68K ROMs that are not a QL operating system but self-written.
