For weekday chatting, time zone will be an issue. 5 pm Pacific is 1 am GMT. Weekend chatting would be better for all.

I should be on most evenings including weekends as that is my usual computer time :)

Is it possible to enable two or three features please?

1. time stamps
2. notification when people enter or leave - nothing worse than replying to someone who left, and the only indication was their name disappearing
3. a toggle for a sound when someone talks to you?

Derek,
probably not a good idea - I wouldn't want to have my random personal blah-blah recorded and replayed a hundred times by people I wasn't talking to at that moment. If something really important is discussed, I guess someone will bring it forward into the forum itself.

Just my 2 ct.

Tobias

The online chat sessions aren't logged and we don't currently have any plans to do so.

Dave has suggested holding a scheduled Q&A session with a diifferent guest each month.
These sessions could be logged and made publicly available if everyone thought this was a good idea.

We are looking into adding a 'Bot' into the chat, called Clive. Clive could filter for bad language etc..
With a little work, Clive will also be able to act as a quiz master. So we can hold our own QL pub quiz! Sadly beer isn't included :(
