IQLR Scans

Post by Derek_Stewart »

Hi,

I see that someone has scanned the International QL Reports on Archive.org:

https://archive.org/details/iqlr_202107 ... 20V1%20I1/

The complete 22 files can be downliaded, but it is a 575Mb download.

Regards,

Derek

Thanks Derek. I might download those, I used to write for IQLR, way back then.

Cheers,
Norm.

Think I should download these to my website, or would a link to archive.org suffice? What are they like for not moving or removing things?

Like Norman, I contributed a bit to IQLR mag. I remember the odd fairly long trans-atlantic phone call with editor Bob Dyl.

I think those IQLR' are from my scans. We have a guy here in the US that is loading a bunch of Timex/Sinclair stuff to the Internet Archive. He runs www.timexsinclair.com. I scanned IQLR a while back and sent him a CD with the scans.
He believes that archive.org will be around longer than some of our own web pages.

Hello,

I have downloaded the IQLR set in Archive.org, but unfortunately some issues are missing. The ones available are:

V1: 1,2,3,4,5,6
V2: 1
V3: 2,3,4,5,6
V4: 2,4
V5: 1,3,6

Does anyone know about where the missing issues scans are available? I am specially interested in Volumes 4 and 5, as those bridge the gap between the shutdown of QL World and the starting of QL Today.

Thank you

I've uploaded what scans I have to hand of the IQLR magazines. I think there are some more issues from Vol 2 than were in the list you gave.

I think have most (maybe all) the missing issues here, will scan more as I get time.

I think that all remaining issues of IQLR are now on my website as PDF files. The last issue I have is Volume 5 Issue 6 (March/April 1996).

Anyone know if there were any later issues?

Thanks Dilwyn!

I found an interesting advert on a Miracle Systems card I never knew existed:

Page 9 of the March/April 1996 has a full-page Miracle Systems advert for a "QXL Gold" card that apparently allowed you to adapt a Miracle Gold or SuperGold card to a 16-bit ISA PC bus and use it in a PC/AT, just like the QXL, but as an "upgrade path". It was promised to be available starting from November 1995.

Has anyone ever heard of that beast existing, or even has one?

I don't know how far they got down the development path, but it was never released.
