Apologies but had to drop off the zoom meeting - was giving this a go on the works laptop, as we've just adopted zoom - but I kept dropping out.
Did manage to catch Marcel's piece and the network discussion - some excellent work
Finally - happy birthday to the forum and well done to the admins and all those behind the scenes who keep this site going - it's a great resource.
Dave.

Re: QL Forum Virtual Meetup 2020 / Birthday Bash
I was usingthe browser interface as it refused to let me connect on Linux until I updated Zoom. Clicking the update link had no effect. The browser kept siezing up and dropping out, but reconnected easily enough.Prof wrote:was giving this a go on the works laptop, as we've just adopted zoom - but I kept dropping out.
Eventually, after another drop out, I downloaded and installed the latest Zoom version and reconnected. Better video and audio, plus, no more dropouts.
It was great to finally put faces to all the names I've communicated with over the years, the only problem is, well a couple of problems, some of the people have girl's names and, secondly, people now know what I look like!
There was some great discussions today which I thouroughly enjoyed. Thanks to everyone presenting, and organising. Most enjoyable, thanks all.
Cheers,
Norm.

Hi,

So, thanks everybody, it was very enjoyable!
If anybody wondered why I might seem to have been a bit distracted at the end, this was because of Ralf's throwaway comment that "Black Knight" at least has visible board edge unlike the prevalent Psion Chess version. I thought "right, that is a curious thing" and started disassembling it right away. Well, I found the bug (which is actually a serious memory corruption waiting to happen) and as it's free now I have now uploaded a fixed version to here viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2696&p=37623#p37623, enjoy
