Some very sad news to share, Lee Privett, well known on the forum as Mr Navigator, and also QUANTA Editor, passed away yesterday after a short illness.

I knew Lee through my QL business in the 1980s and got to know him again when he rejoined the QL scene some years ago. He was a true enthusiast and had put much of his renewed interest in learning to use QLs again to good use through creating his BackToTheQL site and writing an eBook to help others in the same position.

I was one of the ones who helped persuade him to join Quanta committee as their magazine editor. As his News Editor I worked alongside him for some time and found him such a great person to work with, he never protested when i kept asking him to correct my mistakes or to add last minute news items or updates.

I had known about his illness for some time, it was the reason why he stepped down from editing the last couple of issues of the Quanta magazine. I had spoken to him a couple of times late last year and despite his illness, his enthusiasm for the QL was still evident.

RIP Lee, I will miss your infectious enthusiasm for the QL. I'm sure we would all like to extend our sympathies to his family at this difficult time.

Hi,

Really bad news, I only met Lee once and found a very nice person.

Lee bought a Q68 from me, such was his interest in QL computing.

I feel really sad he will not be around.

Regards,

Derek

My thoughts are with Lee's family. I met him at a few Quanta shows and as Dilwyn says, his enthusiasm for the QL was very much in evidence.

He will be sorely missed
