Re: ROM replaced by EPROM

I suggest shortening the flying lead to pin 1 of your EPROM. It's VERY noisy inside the case, and that wire is long enough to pick up all kinds of interference. You may find otherwise marginal EPROMs will work better if you just shorten that lead.

Re: Qubide clone

If the QubIDE schematic could be combined with a floppy interface schematic, this board would make a lot more sense. Using newer SMD components, it could also reduce power draw a LOT. Further, replacing the 7805 with a better regulation circuit would help too. I am willing and able to do a run of th...

Re: Taking a break...

No.

I'm doing some work for a company that makes assemblies for sha hashing. Nothing close to mechagodzilla - these components and assemblies don't animate.

Re: QL Keyboard Membranes

Since the next batch will undoubtedly be the last batch ever, maybe a kickstarter-type situation would be best? Pre-sell a chunk of them for £20 each, postage included, with the price-saving guarantee that after the kickstarter sale, all the remaining ones will be £22 or more. That way you'll get a ...

Re: Taking a break...

Hehe, there is that. The work I have taken is quite interesting. I can't really talk about it but it is in a related field and does give me access to some resources and facilities that will really help me with my QL work longer term. I will continue to work on the daft regulatory nonsense to get the...

Taking a break...

Hi all, Summer's here. I've decided to take a break from working on QL thinks for 2-3 months. I accepted a good offer and will be focusing on some contract work for the next 8-12 weeks. I will return to working on QL things when that contract finishes. One of the real upsides is it's a well-paying c...

Re: Cased Sinclair QL

This looks very much like a heavily cleaned, refurbished and tested QL from that barn auction on eBay a couple of months ago. Is it?

Re: Fun things to do with an MC68EC020....

Once again Nasta knocks it out of the park :) One of the great things is that there's a great deal of technical 'meat' to these posts. It increases my knowledge in small spurts as concepts become clear. It's also a problem because I do get frustrated when I don't learn instantly, and some of the con...
