Re: FPGA replacment for the ZX8301 ULA and more
I looked at this project on Hackaday and it is quite interesting. On the buffer, it would help to connect all unused inputs to ground or +5V. Between the buffer and the monitor connected pins of the 8301 socket, it would offer extra protection to add 5.1V zener diodes to ground. Apart from that, eve...

The SP1000 head also works, but the ribbon is longer and always needs swapping. So if you check your flex ribbon is OK before ord...

Re: Voltage regulator board?
This looks like a board Sandy fitted to a few systems in 1984.
They're horrible and should not be used. We stopped using them as soon as we got customer feedback.

Re: Sandy Keyboard Interface, appeal
I don't know if that is correct. Sorry
Instead of a text description, maybe you need to create a schematic?

Re: Sandy Keyboard Interface, appeal
It’s good to have the fuse map, but it sure would be nice to reverse engineer the equations.

Re: Sandy Keyboard Interface, appeal
I wasn’t involved in the design or build of the keyboard interface. I would love to reverse engineer it and see if it could be adapted for more modern keyboards - which should be a trivial matter.
