Re: QL Keyboard to PS/2

Hi,

Since both SMSQ/E and Minerva support different Language options, could the language selection not be left to the operating system?

Maybe a Meanwell power supply maybe a better solution.

Re: Serial port confusion.

Hi, If the QTPI Manual is consulted, there is complete section on QL Serial port connections. The SER2 connections: SER2 DB9 1. GND 5. GND 2. TxD 3. TxD 3. RxD 2. RxD 4. DTR 7. RTS 5. CTS 8. CTS 6. NC Works for a Hayes compatible modem and a Serial Mouse. For connection to SER1, the TxD,RxD and DTR,...

Re: Q68 Order Process

Hi, I did consider pre-payment or a deposit, but I do not want to get into a finanical situation where I have taken money and not supplied the product and given excuses for the delay. I have financed the next batch of Q68 boards, so there is no need for any pre-payment. I have always beaten the Spec...

Re: schematics for floppy disk interfaces

Only if you assemble the board with the heatsink on the wrong side. In which case you've got bigger problems ;) Yes, nothing that a dremel can not solve. :D but we are speaking about the V4 version as per the photos that Derek_Stewart posted here: https://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3422&...

Re: "8749 replaces 8049" Curiosity

Hi, The 8749 chips that I stated were faulty,I was issued a refund and allowed to keep the chips, so maybe my ALL03a programmer is not up to the job. Here is another link of someone who has built an the Arduino MCS-48 Shield: http://www.bygonebytes.co.uk/8748_Programmer.html I will have to get an Ar...

Hi, A couple of thoughts on this. I will look to see if my Hilo Systems ALL03a programmer is working correctly, all eproms seem to programme okay, when UV erased. Only problems I havw is wi the Intel and NEC 8749. I note there is a DIY Progammer: http://www.mattmillman.com/projects/hveprom-project/a...

Re: "8749 replaces 8049" Curiosity

Ah, shows you learn something new every day. The 8749HC is user programmable, but only once, for low volume prototype runs. I have the 8749HD with the quartz window, which are programmable multiple times. Hmm, creating Hermes chips is relatively easy if you have the programmer, did one just yesterd...

Re: "8749 replaces 8049" Curiosity

Hi,

The added components on the chip are to implement the CAPSLOCK_LED circuit, which works with 8049 and 8749.

So from the IPCVER$ function,the IPC is a 8049.
