Re: Minerva4Q68

Hi, I have loaded Q68 v1.02 FPGA code onto a Batch 4 Q68, and copied a Q68_ROM.SYS, with integrated Toolkit 2, to a freshly formatted SD Card with a FAT32 partition. The Q68 boots up to Minerva and links Toolkit 2, faster than my monitor startup. The system seems to work in 512x256, 1024x768, also l...

Re: Minerva4Q68

Hi,

Have you reported this to Wolfgang to get the problem fixed?

Re: what is the difference between a ql microdrive and the spectrum version ?

Hi,

Does the design of the external microdrive enclosed not clash with the new case design?

I thought so, so the QL could be under the desk, with a switchable keyboard, integrating into a multi computer setup with a switch box.

Saves wear on the QL Keyboard Memrane

Re: USB Keyboard IF

Hi,

I have done the schematic in KiCad, just need to settle on a PCB layout, but that is trivial.

I am wondering if a USB/PS/2 keyboard can be used in parallel with the existing QL keyboard.

Re: Dev_use how to use?

Hello and thanks. Try DEF_USEN instead. Doesn't work. Bad name trying dev_usen flp This link is pretty helpful to understand a bit more about these toolkits https://oldmachinery.blogspot.com/2019/05/sinclair-ql-smsqe-experience-on-super.html?m=1 Hi, I read the link to the oldmachinery blogspot, I t...

Re: Anouncement for the 40th Anniversary of the Sinclair QL in Dormagen (Germany)

Hi, I have been given a full time Carer job to my 87 year old Father-in-Law, so I can see how I can attend the event in Germany. Which is a great pity, it would be nice to see every one in person. I will look forward to seeing show reports and photographs of the event. Truly seems I have missed out...

Re: Thor 8 with no keyboard

I bought a Thor 1 for £50 and thought it wax too much, the operati g system did not run very well.

It was out performed by a QL with Trump Card and 2 floppy drives.

Thor could not run Minerva.

Re: Software updates

Hi Per, The problem, maybe configuration and mixture of hardware. What mouse is being used, what PS/2 Splitter... Unfortunatley, PS/2 mouse and splitters vary in wiring configuration, see in another thread about this, I have some splitter cables that work on a PC, but not on a Q68, 2 wires have to c...

Re: Minerva4Q68

Hi, I am waiting on Mark's Q68 being returned for furthepr investigation. I have 2 Q68 with same build and Q68 ROM Loader v1.05, both seem to load Minerva from Q68_ROM.SYS or from SMSQ/E. A bit strange. I only use Windows 7 to programme the FPGA, the Q68 is powered from a 1A power supply. The SD Car...
