Re: New Forum

Thanks for feedback everyone. The design and style is not set in stone and there is plenty of scope etc for tweaks and changes. The big job was just getting it moved over and brought bang up to date. I checked another phpBB site that has just been upgraded and it doesn't load the CPU even though th...

Re: New Forum

I guess it's the animation behind the QL logo. Only does it for me while the tab is active so it's okay for me, but I understand the point. Oh! I never even noticed the moving dots. Looking at them closely I think they are supposed to be constellations and it probably has software running to rotate...

Re: New Forum

Stuff the looks for the moment  why does it need 64% of my computer power? Oh! its an upgrade that usually adds another few Gigs of code to waste computing power. It is irritating to me because at that processing power the noisy fan keeps rattling away now where on the old system it never turne...

Re: Using QL for teaching about operating systems

I am curious to know what they thought of it being done with a 32K operating system & 128K ram? Perhaps they might ask what the other 4 Gigabytes does on modern computers.

Was Truss set up or part of the plot. £1 million short on the pound would have given £500+ million after the mini budget & everybody that gave her the mandate would know the consequences. Lets make a fortune and stuff the people because it will all settle again in a couple of months and we can b...

Transputer I'll be back

I have always thought the Transputer method of lots of small CPUs linked together was the way to go since its inception mainly because of the concept of if you want more power add another card of processors. Probably most of you have seen this but I thought it was amazing and I wonder if the RPi boy...

Re: RasPiQL

Errrrrrr, check the negative feedback on that item :o OK thanks. Yes I thought it was cheap but it was the first one in the list. Can a USB drive do the same as USB to SATA though?. There are plenty of USB3 big storage external SSDs cheaper than internal SATAs but are they slower is the real questi...
