Re: RWAP Software 30th Anniversary - Week 4 Competition

Hi everyone, I was the lucky winner of the final 30th Anniversary competition. However, I didn't think I could do justice to nine collections of QL games, so I asked Rich if we could spread the prize a little, to provide some early Christmas cheer. I picked three games collections with a mix of diff...

Re: Announcement - new QL Interface

Has anyone seen memory-clash problems with the default QUBIDE memory configuration and older software? I am unable to run Computer One FORTH with the QUBIDE card installed. C1 FORTH isn't re-locatable and the main code has to be loaded at address 196,608, which seems to clash with some memory being...

Re: Announcement - new QL Interface

I've run a range of much less interesting tests to check read/ write/ dir on different drives, copy files between combinations of floppy drive, Microdrive, and win1_ device, plus check TK2 functionality. All seems in order, except one strangeness I've found is that using flp2_ to format a floppy dis...

Re: RWAP Software 30th Anniversary - Week 4 Competition

Well, from a statistical sample of five that I've played (!), I would have said Hoverzone [http://www.rwapadventures.com/ql_wiki/index.php?title=Hoverzone&lang=en] -- except that the controls are not re-definable and cursors plus space make it confusing to play. It reminds me of the early Ultima...

Hi Christian, I guessed so, but couldn't think of anything humorous to respond. ;)

Re: Contact for Computer One FORTH

I contacted Steve Pelc (of MPE Limited) who told me he had some incomplete paper listings of the source code. However, the source code rights remain with Laboratory Microsystems Limited, owned by Ray Duncan, who developed the Sage II version, so we'd need permission to create a new port―even if we m...

Agreed -- I'm not even sure I need a keyboard membrane. However, I haven't ever tried to open up my QL, so maybe ...

'Dennis the Dwarf at the Funfear' and 'Spy-A QL Adventure' -- that is, I agree with Christian!

Re: Contact for Computer One FORTH

Hi Derek, My concern is that two of us might think this was a good opportunity to get a copy of the manual for scanning/ OCR and then start bidding against each other. I'm interested in the manual for two reasons: (i) as the current scan is poor, and some elements of the program are difficult to use...
