Re: Expanding the range of QL Adventures

XorA's port of the ADV770 version of Adventure or Colossal Cave now available to download zipped from http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/games/adventures/index.html Remember that the executable aloneis a massive 1.2MB, so it needs a minimum of a Gold Card or an emulator set to 2MB or RAM or more. Wonder if thi...

High time we had a "monster 1.2M executable" for QL systems though...make it worth while having a Super Gold Card or 128MB QPC2 or whatever...

So, are you going to make a QDOS executable of it?

BMP program update

Bob Spelten Jr. has updated my BMP graphics viewer. Bob has extended the range of BMP file types which can be converted (most types from 24-bit to 1-bit), while conversions from QL graphics to BMP can now be done as either 24-bit or 16-bit files. Saving to a DOS or NFA named device will replace unde...

Updated sources for XTC68 cross-compiler for QDOS C68 for POSIX systems (e.g. Linux) is available from Jonathan Hudson on github (thanks to XorA for the tip). https://github.com/stronnag/xtc68 I've put a copy of the master zip file onto the C page of my website under XTC68 in case it ever gets remov...

Re: New option for QIMI users?

I have just seen a new adaptor listed on sellmyretro which allows you to use a USB mouse with a 9 pin connector. As it has been tested and works with the Amiga - I wondered whether it might work with the QIMI to allow a modern mouse to be used (instead of the hard to find bus mice)... A bit expensi...

Re: The Future of the QL Wiki

I see it a bit like you, VP - enthusiasm needs to be honored with fun. As soon as it's no longer fun, enthusiasm tends to fade. And: The risk of one individual vanishing from the scene (for whatever reason) can be mitigated by having resilience - mirrors, back-ups, the like. Tobias I agree - QLing ...
