Re: In the market
I just discovered another unzip program that is half the size of the standard QL unzip at only 59K. It doesnt seem as versatile as the infozip one, but might be useful where memory is tight. I think it came with QLC? I didnt find any manual, and only tested it briefly. It might be useful for that in...

Re: Norm's Blog and QDOSMSQ Web Site
<>Please let me know if I should bother with the old QDOSMSQ wiki or not. Thanks. <> I used to take a peek every now and then, but after a while it seemed not to change very much - at least not on the QL side - so I may have forgotten about it. (Sorry) Maintaining a site can be a lot of bother and ...

Re: QL replica
Perhaps not, but the "temporary hack" to limit the memory available to slaving has virtually neutralised any symptoms. No it didn't. Still only FS.LOAD works at full speed on native hardware, even under SMSQ/E which contains this hack. We lack the manpower to get rid of a 40 year old perf...

Re: Anouncement for the 40th Anniversary of the Sinclair QL in Dormagen (Germany)
The confusion isnt mine in this case otherwise I would understand it completely ;) What Id like to know about this meeting is: Is it a true international meeting (a la Vienna in 2010) or just a local one open to the odd stranger? Some more info on what is intended, re arrangements, invites, etc, wou...

The hotel website works for me now. The dates on http://www.dieobis.de/ appear still to be confused, though. Perhaps theyre stuck in cache..

Detlef, Gremlins have snuck in: It says 17/18/19 May, but then it says arrival Friday 17th June both in the English and German version of the text. I presume we're talking May 2024 here?

Re: QL replica
While development may be slow, drivers for dangling hardware may appear eventually, viz the network driver. <> Bringing out a hot new piece of hardware, and then just wait for QL drivers to be written, has not worked for the last 25 years and will - in my humble opinion - never work. If you look at...

Re: QL replica
<> The Qzero has dual SDRAM onboard, allowing more than 100% speed increase in 1024x768 highcolor mode over the Q68. A new Q68 could re-use this hardware, either by Qzero as a module (faster development) or an all-in-one PCB (cheaper). I diverted to the QIMSI project for a while. But if interest in...
