Re: SMSQ/E Executables
I think it was in the context of QL core for the Spectrum Next Can you say more, for those of us not on Facebook? - In another thread if it's likely to spawn a discussion and hijack this one? (it will, I will pester you for more info :D) I know there was one as a work in progress by Victor Trucco, ...

Re: SMSQ/E Executables
Sorry, I think I confused everyone with my reply since I didn't understand it correctly when I first read it. I think Phoebus and those involved with that project (I think it was in the context of QL core for the Spectrum Next) meant something completely different, and weren't referring to placing a...

Re: SMSQ/E Executables
Well, I knew that QPC2's DOS driver could save executables with a QemuLator-style header from v5.00 of QPC2. As far as I knew, it was exclusive to QPC2's DOS driver, though. Would love to be proven wrong though! EDIT: I should have read the full thread first before replying, I misunderstood what he ...

Re: Wanted: QIMSI case
Here's a picture of the QIMSI case which Johan Engdal kindly printed for me. It was early days of QIMSI - I think someone (Maskenlos?) has made a publicly available case design, though I can't find the link for it on the Forum atm. Picture shows the micro SD card slot and the two USB connectors. Als...

Re: QL serial to PC
But be careful to get the 631W variant. The commonly available 631A (UK telephone) types have a different polarisation. The Sinclair QL joystick ports accept a 630W plug The Sinclair QL serial ports accept a 631W plug The ZX Spectrum serial port accepts a 631W plug The ZX spectrum keypad/aux port ac...

Re: QL serial to PC
The UK-style serial and joystick connectors (Type 630W for joysticks, 631W for serial ports – these are the keyed connectors which look a little bit like British Telecom phone connectors) try Betterbox.co.uk at https://www.betterbox.co.uk/products/bt-631w-keyed-plug-ct6310.html and https://www.bette...

Re: My rare old QL version AH
I wonder if the labelling on the "8049" implies it could be one of the replacement 8049 chips, such as the Schön one? They were intended as anti- keybounce replacements for some keyboards. Had side effect of affecting serial comms in some ways. Very interesting. Where could I get more inf...

Re: QL Games
I think there was a sprites system from Herbert Zens somewhere on my pages, probably tucked away on the Sprites page IIRC. I remember seeing another early system which I intended to put on my site, but lost the files. It was probably on a CGH Services PD disk, or probably on the QLPD CDR. I can't re...

Re: QL Games
I've never really been much of a game player. The only games I've really played all my life are the likes of Space Invaders, maze games, some card games, the occasional chess or draughts (checkers) and a few word-games. Two of my favourite QL games were The Wall by Wolfgang Lenerz, and the Jewels ga...
