Re: Connector pinout

Andi, if you can, grab some X-(Y-, Z-) modem program for both sides. Any standard terminal program for the PC should be able to do that. Look for QTPI or QeM (?) ffor the QL. "Kermit" should also be available for both the PC and the QL. Either of those programs will packetize the data acro...

Re: Bug in EXTRAS in SMSQ/E?

Marcos, this won't help much in your specific case, but for the sake of completeness: Minerva copies the complete set of EXTRAS into daughter basic jobs. (I.e. EXTRAS shows identical output in job 0 and daughter basics.) I'm not sure what happens should you try to override one specific S*Basic exten...

Re: Possible Coldfire platform for modern QL?

Maybe You are already familiar with the FireBee (Atari Coldfire project) . It is small hardware piece, with Coldfire 266 MHz processor, and many modern peripherals Small and absolutely silent (with CF card and no fan). Even it can run for two hours on small battery power! I think, in case that Q60 ...

Re: MG ROM Bug

I think that the Toolkit 2 patches this - there is a reference in the TK2 updates list (v2.03) about a patch to MG ROM initialisation problems, although I am not sure if this refers to the point bug or the when error flag resetting. Dilwyn Yes, you're right - It was actually TK2 that fixed it. Been...

Re: MG ROM Bug

The MG ROMs (I have a german one with the same problem) have a nasty problem with the SD.POINT routine that draws single pixels: They always draw 2 pixels instead of one, the 'shadow' pixel being of different colour and slightly offset from the real one. The same problem exposes in the SuperBASIC PO...

Re: My game development thread

Actually reading your ideas again about the lab, made me have an idea. I could make certain clues an actual object within the quill or ACT and then that would give me something to work with. "It may be that you are not yourself luminous, but you are a conductor of light." I was actu...

Re: My game development thread

Just some random thoughts: Each and every adventure of the 80ies used to have its very own make of unpassable maze. Please leave that out - I never found this to be a real challenge, rather more annoying. If you think you need it, just make some humoruous reference to it (like one room that's called...

Re: Copy Protection

I'm not sure what you need to do in the game, but I do seem to remember it got a devastating review in QL World. Maybe that makes it worth to explore.....
Will try and find the review tonight.

Re: Max bps limit on QXL?

Well, actually, the QXL supports one additional baud rate, 153600 baud, by giving a 0 as baud rate to the BAUD command.
At least that's what my QXL manual says - never actually tried that.
A reproduction of the QXL manual can be had from Dilwyn's site, BTW.
