Controlling DIR scrolling

Hello, I'm just writing a little SuperBasic prog on an original QL with TK2, to help me manage and unzip the tons of zip files downloaded from Dilwyn's site. The program can (if you want it to) display a Dir listing of a directory but the directory in question is quite full, so it expects you to pre...

Re: Sinclair QL Power Supply

Yes, it'll be fine. Apart from the designation EU2000/UK2000 and the plug types (which probably were not included when new anyway) they are exactly the same. Paypal is fine or bank transfer even better, I can provide references. Do you want to pm me or shall I pm you?

Re: Sinclair QL Power Supply

As no one has replied and I hate to see someone with an unusable original QL..... I have a spare power supply that I know works. Slight drawback is that it has a European plug and is in Germany. £33 with normal small packet postage or £37 trackable and insured. It is actually a UK model (UK2000 as a...

Re: Hello and my QL experience so far

Yes, I do use WTV in my normal boot file and quite often for changing things back, but it doesn't seem to help in the pointer environment with those menus and all the channels open.

Re: Another microdrive re-felting enquiry.

Thanks. Have you got any spare by any chance? eBay sellers seem to charge a fortune to Germany. It can't be £9 odd postage for a small envelope, surely. And it doesn't have to be insured/tracked for the sake of £3.50. If not, I'll wait and get some on the next UK visit. Just noticed you're in the US...

Another microdrive re-felting enquiry.

I re-felted a couple of cartridges with some self adhesive felt that was designed to go on the bottom of ornaments or whatever, so that they don't scratch surfaces. It worked initially, but must have been too rough as I can't get a dir now. Can someone recommend a source of self adhesive felt so tha...

Re: Hello and my QL experience so far

Hi, I have a beta version of the TDI Startup kit, written by Alain Haoui. If the official release is the same as my version. Please look in the ETC subdirectory where you will find "menuconfig" You need the Extended Environment or Pointer Interface installed to run Menuconfig. Thanks, yes...

Re: Hello and my QL experience so far

Quite suprised that the +3 cable worked as well as it did! Losing bits of the screen edges are, believe it or not, pretty normal for a QL - the issues have been explained pretty regularly here. The Button Frame of QPAC2 can be reconfigured fairly easily to move the origin by using the MenuConfig pr...

Re: Hello and my QL experience so far

As for the position of the buttons at the top - that is part of the QPAC2 button frame. From memory you need to use MenuConfig to configure QPAC2 (or possibly PTR_GEN / WMAN) to set the position of the button frame. It has been many years since I did that... Top left of a TV screen should be x = 32...
