Re: Q68 Advance Notice

I don't want to hijack the OP thread. The price charged for the games will depend on the wish of the people composing the studio, although it is true, being real enthousiasts, I think it should be in a budget area ( 5 to 10, GBP). If big box games are produced and a thick manual must be printed, it ...

Re: RE: Re: Q68 Advance Notice

I do not know if it is possible with your board (if the FPGA is 'only' for the CPU, I doubt it. What would be needed is that the FPGA also includes the graphics and memory controller of the QL. This way, I believe, additional features could be added). As I wrote earlier in this same thread, the Q68...

Re: RE: Re: Q68 Advance Notice

Hi, I was simply curious to know if things like hardware sprites, for example, would be or not possible to add. I have some plans for a small studio developping games on retro systems, but also systems like yours, (enhanced retro) this is why I was asking, very simply. At present ther are no hardwa...

Re: RE: Re: Q68 Advance Notice

- Are the hi res screen and hi colour screen modes planar or chunky ? They are linear, probably the same what you mean by "chunky". - how many kbytes per second are you able to transfer to the screen buffer. The theoretical video memory bandwith is 160 MB/s, but that's meaningless, as the...

Re: Q68 Advance Notice

Great work ! I am a noob at everything QL, and I have 2 questions : - Are the hi res screen and hi colour screen modes planar or chunky ? - how many kbytes per second are you able to transfer to the screen buffer. Yes my question is demo and game oriented. Also, any chance in the future additionnal ...

Re: Hello from France

Welcome to the forum, time to knock the dust off those QL's! :D Yes, I agree. I'm a bit shy and afraid of spending too much time reading, trying things, when on the Archie I have so much to do ... Who is going to try to install some 28 ns RAM chips on an A3020 motherboard to overclock it to 40 Mhz ...

Hello from France

Hi all. I'm 44 and a croissants + frog eater. My story with the Sinclair marvels started when I was 8 or 9, thanks to my father buying a ZX81 (kit). I then got a ZX Spectrum, with unreliable microdrives and then Beta Disk interface (and multiface). I tried to understand Z80 programming but ahem I wa...
