Re: Q68 case, quick and dirty
Perhaps it could be stiffened, but it's just a real shame that it doesn't close properly. It's pretty much only due to the protruding solder joints on the bottom. Hi, The soldered joints on bottom of the Q68 board could be soldered so that the joint is not protruding. I am not saying every one do t...

Re: Q68 support thread
Ok. I couldn't see anything in the PDF Q68 Mainboard Manual or the SMSQ/E FOR THE Q68 doc. Is there another? And I assume that implies the mdv images that can be used on Qemulator and vDrive are not immediately compatible with the Q68? Hi, MDI and FDI are extensions to the operating system, you sho...

Re: Q68 support thread
Hi,
I supplied MDI and FDI with every Q68 supplied. Just read the manual to learn how to use the excellent software by Martin Head.
I did not however supply MDI compatible microdrive images.

I think manual soldering of a BGA chip, deserves huge congratulations for achieving such a difficult task.Peter wrote:Thanks. Not sure if manually soldering BGA deserves congratulations or commiserations. It was absolutely painful.

Re: Q68 support thread
Hi Chr$, Well done on making the Q68 QLNET adapter. While the Q68 does not have Microdrive or Floppy Disk access, FLP/MDV images can be used with ìnstallation of MDI or FDI. I converted all my old Digitial Precison software collection to FLP image, FDI makes the software able to run on the Q68. What...

Hi,
I think the decimal point is in the wrong place, I would of thought 70-100 pounds/dollars or euros is too much...

Re: Norm's New Book - 55% Off!
Hi Norm, I will buy your book on Monday(payday)... I do not have an Arduino, which is the best? With regards to the Q68 and Arduino, there no USB port on the Q68. Can the Arduino be programmed by the serial port connection? I think a similar Arduino style interface could be made, with the same funct...

Re: Q68 Order Process
Hello Derek, if I'm not too late, I also want to order a Q68. If available with custom case with QL NET connection, else just the mainboard. Plus a PS/2 splitter. I have also send you a private message with my E-Mail address. Thank you for your effort! Peter Hi Peter, Thank you for the interest in ...

Re: Issue 6 VM12 & resistors confusion
Hi,
You might have to resolder the joints with fresh solder then suck it out.
This is a standard way to resolder old chips.
But if you do not need the chips cut the chip legs at the IC body and try heating each leg portion left to extract the leg.
