Re: Q68 netwrok port hardware
is PC.MCTRL a byte long or a word long (peek or peek_w) Byte, as for the original QL. I have checked with nothing plugged and the value of peek(hex("18020")) is 56. That's correct in inactive state (Bit 0 = 0). When you pull the line high, it should change. P.S. something is strange. The ...

Re: Announcing availability of a QLNET driver for the Q68 (ND-Q68)
I had the same scenario, but a Q60 instead of an emulator and didn't see the problem. IIRC you have a Q60, maybe try it to encircle the issue.afx wrote:But when I access from QPC2 to QL or Q68 resources then the network speed is very very slow.
Also check if you have hardware handshake off on SER.

Re: Q68 netwrok port hardware
In retrospective, I regret that I didn't add the few QL network components on-board. It was a compromise to save the time for an additional prototyping round, and get the Q68 released. (Back then, it was uncertain if someone would do the difficult timing stuff needed for the driver.) I considered de...

Re: Q68 netwrok port hardware
Peter, if you are reading this, is it conceivable that although the Q68 works well, the circuitry associated with the network is broken ? Remember that I had an issue that destroyed both my keyboard and SD card a few months ago. That is why I ask if it would be a good idea to monitor the output of ...

Re: Q68 netwrok port hardware
Your VCC, GND and QLNET pins on the connector are correct.
Sorry if I ask something too obvious, but are you aware the Q68 network driver is not part of SMSQ/E and needs to be loaded separately?

Re: Emulator Networking
Of course, what could be done as the QL-NET is already a CDMA network protocol is to just encapsulate QL-NET packets within an Ethernet broadcast packet and let the emulators listen to the network for QL-NET packets. That would mean to turn the emulators into something similar to ethernet network s...

Re: Q68 netwrok port hardware
Here I see 10ns https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/micro-commercial-co/1N5819-TP/1N5819-TPCT-ND/950588 A bit too close to the acceptable speed ? It's fine, you are on the safe side. This requirement is unrelated to the QLNET bit timings. The diode is to protect the FPGA pin from overvoltage ...

Re: Q68 netwrok port hardware
However although I ask specifically for a BAT43 diode, I just realize the clerk gave me 1N5819 diodes instead. Equivalent parts ? My problem with the 1N5819 is that I find no specification for the speed yet. The BAT43 is a relatively fast (5 ns) small signal schottky diode, whereas the 1N5819 is a ...

Re: Q68 pads for reset button
The function of the optional Q68 RESET button requires a little understanding of Q68 internals. The Q68 has no classic ROM at $0, but actually SRAM which is prefilled with bootloader code at power-up. After the bootloader has loaded the operating system, it is no longer present at $0, but has been o...

They are obsolete, I suspect lots of Chinese fakes.Derek_Stewart wrote:I will see aboit getting some W27C4096 EEPROMs to try.
Dave, you are the expert in this area, could you comment on the procurement situation?
