Re: Q40/Q60

This is my Q60 with your updated VGA chip same monitor : Of the two I prefer the OSSC. Of course - the modified Q60 video chip is not suitable for widescreens at all. It is for monitors with native 1024x768 resolution or at least 4:3 aspect ratio. With a 1024x768 monitor, you get an absolutely crys...

Many thanks for the info and for posting the pics. Not sure I would be satisfied with the OSSC.

Re: Q40/Q60

Did you find any info about the graphics? No, anticipating when it's on github. Guess would be graphics card in ISA slot. ISA graphics Would also be a "solution" for the flatscreen monitor problem with the non-standard Q60 video output. I never seriously considered that because of the muc...

Re: Q40/Q60

Thierry's settings appear to give full Q60 display http://qdos.free.fr/monitors.html (see http://qdos.free.fr/files/OSSC.txt) Many thanks for the link. Curious if someone gets it to work on an up-to-date OSSC. Also to the "Raven" info. Funny, he uses ISA bus and old-fashioned SIMM sockets...

Re: PiStorm

I think that always depends on who the person is and what their motivation is. There is some insane stuff out there on retro platforms :-/ Sure. For the QL I just don't see the person nor the motivation yet. Not even a simple step was taken within three years... If the EMU68 bare metal variant of P...

No need to compile, you can download it from Thierry's website: http://qdos.free.fr/files/dhrystone21.zip

That would be an important check. If possible, please try the qdos-gcc compiled Dhrystone benchmark on both EMU68 and Musashi.

Re: PiStorm

It's a comparatively small effort to try QL compatibility of the PiStorm CPU emulation with QDOS Classic on Amiga and a few pieces of "demanding" QL code. The emulation should be tried first, so things don't end up in a disaster. If not even such a first little step can be achieved within ...

Re: PiStorm

Hardware is the smaller challenge. Various configurations, timings and functions in the software need to be changed from Amiga to QL, which is not trivial. The QL operating systems also need to be changed to deal with the new timings. Moreover, I have doubts that EMU68 has been suffciently debugged ...
