Re: SMSQ/E on Atari
I found an old QL-Toady article [...] Typo or intention? ;) Hi Peter, many years ago, I spelt QL Today incorrectly as QL Toady . Dilwyn, bless him, picked up on it and from then on, the magazine was known -- at least to us -- as QL Toady ! :D I was pleased to see it live on in @Tofro's post. Cheers...

Re: Joystick/Sound in Supervisor mode?
Thanks Tofro, but I still don't understand some of it - sorry The following might help you out with regard to the QDOS/SMSQ internals of jobs etc. My somewhat irregular QL Assembly Language eMagazine: https://github.com/NormanDunbar/QLAssemblyLanguageMagazine/releases there are 11 issues available ...

Re: ql+ prototype rebuild ? possible
I remember reading, in Computer Weekly I think --- one of the business newspapers anyway --- that Clive Sinclair had succeeded with this wafer technology where the likes of IBM had failed. If I remember correctly, the chap from IBM ended up working for Sinclair at the time. Also, if I remember, this...

Re: Nostalgia – TEXT87 & SPELLBOUND
I have a scaned copy of TEXT87_Plus4_ in pdf format . Maybe this helps. Hi Andrew. I've downloaded your PDF file and found that I couldn't search it. I have therefor added a searchable "bit" using "ocrmypdf" which makes the file slightly larger, but allows the content to be sear...

Re: File modified date/time
DJToolkit has functions to read and set those dates in the file header. WinBack used them back in the day to determine if a file needed backing up or not. Also backs up floppies and such like, not just hard discs. Both available from Dilwyn's web page, linked as QL Homepage at the top of every forum...

The manual that Rich refers to is excellent. And now also available online and for download as HTML, ePub or PDF.

In case anyone is interested that is!

Re: Noisy MDV
It's fine for cleaning, but I'd probably use switch cleaner instead! Switch cleaner evaporates quicker than WD40 and can be lubricated quite quickly afterwards. A tiny drop of sewing machine or watch lubricant would probably be best.
Have fun.
Cheers,
Norm.
