Re: QLCOMMANDER - testers and help needed
Hi Andrei! Looking forward to some of the new features :-) Meanwhile, the QNET cabling is simplicity itself. Mono (2-wire) or stereo (3-wire) cables with mono/stereo 3.5mm TRS/Jack plugs are all that is needed. I mention stereo/3-wire, only because they work and are easier to find ready-made, but yo...

Re: 8302<>8049 communications...
Hi Marcel - yes - I borrowed from your physical 'abstraction' approach on TK2 for the new Q68 driver :-) The QLUB design (and anything else that must converse with a co-processor/uC) needs a bit more wrapping-around to support the off-loading of asynchronous and complete packet-handling. My approach...

Re: 8302<>8049 communications...
Martyn was working on this for USB https://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1985 I was wondering when someone would spot that :-) Whilst there is still significant work to do to complete the QLUB adapter project, the state of the uC coding does already validate Nasta's proposal as far as off-loading t...

Re: QLCOMMANDER - testers and help needed
Hi Andrew I saw this behavior only on QPC - on QL (Minerva ROM) and on QEmulator there are no gaps. Yes, a quick test on a vanilla Minerva-based QL shows that Minerva (at least) appears to interpret the character-increment as set by CHAR_INC to trigger extra 'padding' PAPER/STRIP pixels following th...

Re: QLCOMMANDER - testers and help needed
Hi again Andrew Coming back briefly to your font printing observations documented in your new manual... 1. QPC2 char_inc issue 1 I realise now that my own adjustment to QLC didn't address the problem you mention in the new manual - although it did allow FAT founts to be rendered more effectively - j...

Re: QLCOMMANDER - testers and help needed
Hi Andrew I've been playing with QLC v1.0 a little more and have some suggestions for you, that I'll share via PM. In particular: 1. QPC2 char_inc issue 1 - I have adjusted my copy of v1.0 to address this and added a routine to (90% effectively) detect whether the _fnt file is actually a standard (5...

Works quite nicely - great job! Nice to see the Fn key fount ala Minerva
A couple of quirks - I'll report back after some more play...

Re: QLCOMMANDER - testers and help needed
Hi again Andrew!
As far as i understood MK's Minerva patch, it addressed MDV access (via LBYTES) after the (S)GC ROM patches the timing-routines in Minerva.
I didn't think it was relevant for WIN (SDC) access.
Something else a-foot, I feel...
