Re: Today I Received...
The software in question is at https://www.synaxus.de/index.php/en/traceminer/tm-40 and the company is Synaxus. They apparently registered the Trade Mark "TraceMiner" back in 2013. If they are looking to take money off me for "legal costs" they can go seduce themselves! IN my wo...

Re: MDV re-felting
I did a lot of research into this many years ago. The only hard and fast rules are that the surface needs to be non-abrasive, and it can't be a plastic or static-generating material. Scotch tape, when rubbed by a fast moving plastic strip, creates a static charge which induces crackles into the rec...

Re: Today I Received...
It says the speccy next is out of stock on the web site - so they must have flown off the shelves. They are charging quite a lot for RTC and the few addons that appear to be included in the more expensive version - If the board layout hasn't changed that much, I don't think the addtioanal component...

A pretty good haul today! b878eb2c-7519-48b4-907f-67ffe6f453f7.jpg *SNAP!* :-) Well, I've had mine for a while. I picked up the BBC B+ 128K from the work rubbish pile back in around 1997 and bought the "Toastrack" a couple of years ago off eBay. I finally got around to fixing the Beeb las...

Re: What to do ...?
Tricky. It very much depend upon how many machine you can keep. If it were me I'd use this priority list: 1) The machine(s) I use most often. 2) The most unusual/rare items. 3) The one best example of each type (which you can play with, not just horde). From what you list, on the ZX Spectrum front, ...

Re: Floppy Disk Drive Options?
What may be interesting is a twin drive case/PSU with one floppy and space for a Gotek in the other slot. Maximum flexibility then for data transfer. (Even better if they were switchable DS0/1 externally to swap them between flp1_ and flp2_ )

Re: vDrive QL, Dilwyn's vDrive Images, and Running Games
Instead of a real floppy drive you could buy a Gotek unit with the "Flashfloppy" firmware installed.
With various interface cables the one unit could be used with most/all of your other machines as well.

Re: vDrive QL, Dilwyn's vDrive Images, and Running Games
On the virtual microdrive cartridge you'd have to rename the original "boot" file and create a new one containing the above code with the last line changed to lrun the original.

Re: vDrive QL, Dilwyn's vDrive Images, and Running Games
Guessing there is no other trick? TJ This works for me with a vDrive, but I also have a Trump card with a RAM disk via the TDI Tetroid device and the RAM_USE thing, is I believe only available via the Trump card, so may be completely useless for your setup! 1. Copy the contents of the mdv3_ device ...

Re: Floppy Disk Drive Options?
GoTek units running Flashfloppy works fine except that you can't format double-sided disk images as the QJUMP floppy code uses a trick to determine if a drive is single sided or not which only works on real hardware. The way around this is to create a blank, formatted floppy image in an emulator and...
