Re: Why the QL ?

Thats what EasyPtr is for ;)[/quote] I suspect Dave meant as a user, rather than programming. Certainly my own introduction to PE was painful - I remember thinking how genuinely awful documentation for beginners was at the time. Then Norman sent me his PE Idiot's Guide (or whatever it was called at ...

Re: Why the QL ?

In my case, a period of illness gave me the time to buy and learn to use my first computer back in 1981. I ordered a ZX80 and actually received a ZX81 as it had just been launched. The next few weeks were spent working through the manual and generally getting painful eyes from squinting at the littl...

He he, I like it.

On the odd occasion I need to pull out the wires, I usually have to open up the other QL to see how to replace the wires...

Re: Wires!

Have placed a copy of this on the Hardware Docs page on my website.

Anyone know if the same on all versions of QL or whether this varies from issue to issue or country to country?

Re: Atari Mega STe QDOS - SMS2 - SMSQ/e

Unknown to me as a long time ATari user, I don't recall in the olden days folks running this Alt OS on their Atari systems. Thumbing through a downloaded .PDF of QLToday I see all sorts of mentioned and dealer ads for Atari. Wow! So, anyone here have any experience running QODS or SMS2 or SMSQ/e on...

Re: RLE compression for sprites

Hi So I should ask Dilwyn why his mode 32 sprites got the alpha channel RLE2 compressed when RLE1 would compress the sprite further. There isn't any problem with smsq/e handling sprites with the pattern compressed RLE2 or RLE4 and the alpha channel RLE1? I intend to make some. Cheers The Q-Dock spr...
