Re: In the market
Hi Andrew. I can't help with actual QLs, but if you want to run Quill, then any of the emulators available will be happy to do that for you. I use Marcel's excellent QPC2 https://www.kilgus.net/qpc/ which is written for Windows, but I run it on Linux under Wine and it's fine, other than not being ab...

Re: Hello
Talking of keyboards..... I loved the "dead fish" rubber keyboard on my Spectrum. The original one, not the [cough]Amstrad[cough] ones! ;) I also loved the original QL's excellent keyboard too. A far leap from the rubber one on the spectrum, and a huge, some may say, Quantum, leap from the...

Thanks Andrew, unfortunately, that appears to be a different book. It's "Computer", we are all looking for "Delete" by the same author.Andrew wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 3:11 pm I think you can still buy the ebook here https://press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/bo ... 20557.html

Re: Piggyback 4164 to Diagnose Memory Fault
Thanks, but am breaking the board for spares. Ok, I'm not a hardware expert -- just ask anyone here -- but if you have not solved the problem, then breaking the board for spares is going to mean, I think, that you will never be sure if the spare part is working or faulty! Just a though. Cheers, Norm.

Re: A Hotmail of spam users incoming!
And today's deluge of new users signing up for spam purposes are using email addresses at "hujk.blahtok.com", soon to be confined to the bin! There is another user which is also suspicious: "Pamala Tilley" but with an email address of "jorgwillard7835@qiott.com", which ...

Re: C++ Initialised Static (Class) Variables with Source and Explanation
Proud to present a new article on my homepage ([at least] currently only available in English): http://peter-sulzer.bplaced.net/htdocs/index.php?pagefile=develop/cpp/classVarsWithInit.hti (WARNING: Link opens in SAME Window/Tab, albeit linking to another site!) I'm getting a 404 page when I follow ...

Re: Bug in string handling in SMSQ/E
While I'm happy to agree about returning an empty string in this case, it should be consistent so that any attempt to slice from a larger index to a smaller one should either return the empty string or return an error, but not this pile of pants! This is, currently, as I found in SSB, a bug. Cheers,...
